Built with Django Newsletter - 2024 Week 16

Hey, Happy Tuesday!

Why are you getting this: *You signed up to receive this newsletter on Built with Django. I promised to send you the latest projects and jobs on the site as well as any other interesting Django content I encountered during the month. If you don't want to receive this newsletter, feel free to unsubscribe anytime.

News and Updates

  • Readwise, an amazing company I work for, is looking for a Principal Product Designer. If you care about reading, learning and designing great UIs, you should definitely apply! psst: If you submit a video intro it might improve your odds. It worked for me 😉
  • I experimented and added a bunch of analytical tools* to my tool belt that will help me with identifying any issue that Built with Django users are facing. Another side benefit is that I can write another blog post, which I haven't done in a while. *(Posthog, Signoz, Airbyte and Metabase to be more precise)

Projects

  • Sneat Free Django Admin Template - Most Powerful & Comprehensive 🤩 Open-source Django Admin Dashboard with Elegant Sneat Design & Unique Layouts. 🏆
  • Finance Monitor - The fastest way to view your finances.

From the Community

  • Carlton Gibson, a veteran software engineer, that has a shit ton of experience with Django is creating a monthly longer form piece on application development, operations, and the process (and business) of making software. If you have some spare cash you should definitely subscribe (though there is a free tier).
  • Building forms with the Django admin by Matthias Kestenholz
  • Justin Duke on why Buttondown is not open source. FWIW, IMHO Buttondown is the best newsletter service out there!
  • LLM-Powered Django Admin Fields by Chris Clark
  • Excerpts from DjangoChat posdcast where Jacob Kaplan-Moss Talked about Django’s history and future.
